Verse (16:29), Word 6 - Quranic Grammar

The sixth word of verse (16:29) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, emphatic prefix and verb. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is bā hamza sīn (ب أ س).
