Verse (16:112), Word 17 - Quranic Grammar

The seventeenth word of verse (16:112) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and object pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is dhāl wāw qāf (ذ و ق). The attached object pronoun is third person feminine singular.

Verse (16:112)

Sahih International: And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing.
