Verse (14:1), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (14:1) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A particle of purpose and verb. The prefixed particle lām is used to indicate the purpose of an action and makes the following verb subjunctive. The form IV imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine singular and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is khā rā jīm (خ ر ج).
