Verse (13:5), Word 3 - Quranic Grammar

The third word of verse (13:5) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and noun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The indefinite noun is masculine singular and is in the nominative case (مرفوع). The noun's triliteral root is ʿayn jīm bā (ع ج ب).

Verse (13:5)

The analysis above refers to the fifth verse of chapter 13 (sūrat l-raʿd):

Sahih International: And if you are astonished, [O Muhammad] - then astonishing is their saying, "When we are dust, will we indeed be [brought] into a new creation?" Those are the ones who have disbelieved in their Lord, and those will have shackles upon their necks, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
