Verse (12:6), Word 4 - Quranic Grammar

The fourth word of verse (12:6) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form II imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is ʿayn lām mīm (ع ل م). Sahih International: And thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of narratives and complete His favor upon you and upon the family of Jacob, as He completed it upon your fathers before, Abraham and Isaac. Indeed, your Lord is Knowing and Wise."
