Verse (11:28), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (11:28) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A verb and subject pronoun. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person singular. The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (كان) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها). The suffix (التاء) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: He said, "O my people have you considered: if I should be upon clear evidence from my Lord while He has given me mercy from Himself but it has been made unapparent to you, should we force it upon you while you are averse to it?
