Verse (11:110), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (11:110) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and verb. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The passive form VIII perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. Sahih International: And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them. And indeed they are, concerning the Qur'an, in disquieting doubt.
