The second word of verse (102:7) is divided into 4 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, verb, emphatic suffix and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is rā hamza yā (ر أ ي).
