Chapter (84) sūrat l-inshiqāq (The Splitting Asunder)

Sahih International: Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah].

Pickthall: He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah).

Yusuf Ali: Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)!

Shakir: Surely he thought that he would never return.

Muhammad Sarwar: and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again.

Mohsin Khan: Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)!

Arberry: he surely thought he would never revert.
