Chapter (69) sūrat l-ḥāqah (The Inevitable)

Sahih International: Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship

Pickthall: Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship

Yusuf Ali: We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark),

Shakir: Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high,

Muhammad Sarwar: When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark.

Mohsin Khan: Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)].

Arberry: Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship
