Chapter (51) sūrat l-dhāriyāt (The Wind that Scatter)

Sahih International: When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown.

Pickthall: When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me).

Yusuf Ali: Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people."

Shakir: When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people.

Muhammad Sarwar: When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people".

Mohsin Khan: When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered;"Salam, (peace be upon you )," and said: "You are a people unknown to me,"

Arberry: When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.'
