Chapter (48) sūrat l-fatḥ (The Victory)

Sahih International: And if those [Makkans] who disbelieve had fought you, they would have turned their backs [in flight]. Then they would not find a protector or a helper.

Pickthall: And if those who disbelieve join battle with you they will take to flight, and afterward they will find no protecting friend nor helper.

Yusuf Ali: If the Unbelievers should fight you, they would certainly turn their backs; then would they find neither protector nor helper.

Shakir: And if those who disbelieve fight with you, they would certainly turn (their) backs, then they would not find any protector or a helper.

Muhammad Sarwar: Had the disbelievers fought against you, they would have run away from the battle and would have found no guardian or helper.

Mohsin Khan: And if those who disbelieve fight against you, they certainly would have turned their backs, then they would have found neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper.

Arberry: If the unbelievers had fought you, they would have turned their backs, and then found neither protector nor helper;
