Chapter (43) sūrat l-zukh'ruf (The Gold Adornment)

Sahih International: And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion.

Pickthall: And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade;

Yusuf Ali: If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance of (Allah) Most Gracious, We appoint for him an evil one, to be an intimate companion to him.

Shakir: And whoever turns himself away from the remembrance of the Beneficent Allah, We appoint for him a Shaitan, so he becomes his associate.

Muhammad Sarwar: We shall make satan the companion of whoever ignores the remembrance of the Beneficent God.

Mohsin Khan: And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan ­ devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him.

Arberry: Whoso blinds himself to the Remembrance of the All-merciful, to him We assign a Satan for comrade;
