Chapter (19) sūrat maryam (Mary)

Sahih International: And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken [for Himself] a son."

Pickthall: And they say: The Beneficent hath taken unto Himself a son.

Yusuf Ali: They say: "(Allah) Most Gracious has begotten a son!"

Shakir: And they say: The Beneficent Allah has taken (to Himself) a son.

Muhammad Sarwar: They have said that the Beneficent God has given birth to a son.

Mohsin Khan: And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ) ], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]."

Arberry: And they say, 'The All-merciful has taken unto Himself a son.
