Chapter (11) sūrat hūd (Hud)

Sahih International: Indeed, Abraham was forbearing, grieving and [frequently] returning [to Allah].

Pickthall: Lo! Abraham was mild, imploring, penitent.

Yusuf Ali: For Abraham was, without doubt, forbearing (of faults), compassionate, and given to look to Allah.

Shakir: Most surely Ibrahim was forbearing, tender-hearted, oft-returning (to Allah):

Muhammad Sarwar: Abraham was certainly a forbearing, compassionate, and tender-hearted person.

Mohsin Khan: Verily, Ibrahim (Abraham) was, without doubt, forbearing, used to invoke Allah with humility, and was repentant (to Allah all the time, again and again).

Arberry: Abraham was clement, compassionate, penitent.
