The triliteral root rā fā qāf (ر ف ق) occurs five times in the Quran, in four derived forms:

  • once as the noun rafīq (رَفِيق)
  • once as the noun marāfiq (مَرَافِق)
  • once as the noun mir'faq (مِّرْفَق)
  • twice as the form VIII passive participle mur'tafaq (مُرْتَفَق)
