The triliteral root qāf ṣād rā (ق ص ر) occurs 11 times in the Quran, in six derived forms:

  • once as the form I verb taqṣuru (تَقْصُرُ)
  • once as the form IV verb yuq'ṣiru (يُقْصِرُ)
  • four times as the noun qaṣr (قَصْر)
  • once as the noun maqṣūrāt (مَّقْصُورَٰت)
  • three times as the active participle qāṣirāt (قَٰصِرَٰت)
  • once as the form II active participle muqaṣṣirīn (مُقَصِّرِين)

(4:101:9) taqṣurūyou shorten فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ تَقْصُرُوا مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ

Verb (form IV) - to cease

(7:202:7) yuq'ṣirūnathey cease وَإِخْوَانُهُمْ يَمُدُّونَهُمْ فِي الْغَيِّ ثُمَّ لَا يُقْصِرُونَ
