The triliteral root sīn bā tā (س ب ت) occurs nine times in the Quran, in three derived forms:

  • once as the form I verb yasbitu (يَسْبِتُ)
  • twice as the noun subāt (سُبَات)
  • six times as the noun sabt (سَّبْت)
