The triliteral root nūn qāf rā (ن ق ر) occurs four times in the Quran, in three derived forms:

  • once as the form I verb nuqira (نُقِرَ)
  • once as the noun nāqūr (نَّاقُور)
  • twice as the noun naqīr (نَقِير)
