The triliteral root nūn kāf bā (ن ك ب) occurs twice in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • once as the noun manākib (مَنَاكِب)
  • once as the active participle nākibūn (نَٰكِبُون)

(67:15:9) manākibihā(the) paths thereof هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًا فَامْشُوا فِي مَنَاكِبِهَا

Active participle

(23:74:8) lanākibūnasurely (are) deviating وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ عَنِ الصِّرَاطِ لَنَاكِبُونَ
