Quran Dictionary - ف س ح

The triliteral root fā sīn ḥā (ف س ح) occurs three times in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • twice as the form I verb yafsaḥi (يَفْسَحِ)
  • once as the form V verb tafassaḥu (تَفَسَّحُ)

Verb (form I) - to make room

(58:11:10) fa-if'saḥūthen make room إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمْ تَفَسَّحُوا فِي الْمَجَالِسِ فَافْسَحُوا
(58:11:11) yafsaḥiAllah will make room فَافْسَحُوا يَفْسَحِ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ

Verb (form V) - to make room
