The triliteral root ḥā ḍād ḍād (ح ض ض) occurs three times in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • twice as the form I verb yaḥuḍḍu (يَحُضُّ)
  • once as the form VI verb taḥāḍḍu (تَحَآضُّ)

Verb (form I) - to feel the urge

(69:34:2) yaḥuḍḍufeel the urge وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ
(107:3:2) yaḥuḍḍufeel the urge وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ

Verb (form VI) - to feel the urge

(89:18:2) taḥāḍḍūnayou feel the urge وَلَا تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ
