The triliteral root dhāl rā wāw (ذ ر و) occurs three times in the Quran, in three derived forms:

  • once as the form I verb tadhrū (تَذْرُو)
  • once as the noun dharū (ذَرْو)
  • once as the active participle dhāriyāt (ذَّٰرِيَٰت)

(18:45:16) tadhrūhuit (is) scattered كَمَاءٍ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَاخْتَلَطَ بِهِ نَبَاتُ الْأَرْضِ فَأَصْبَحَ هَشِيمًا تَذْرُوهُ الرِّيَاحُ
