The triliteral root shīn khā ṣād (ش خ ص) occurs twice in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • once as the form I verb tashkhaṣu (تَشْخَصُ)
  • once as the active participle shākhiṣat (شَٰخِصَة)

(14:42:11) tashkhaṣuwill stare إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ الْأَبْصَارُ

Active participle

(21:97:6) shākhiṣatun(are) staring وَاقْتَرَبَ الْوَعْدُ الْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِيَ شَاخِصَةٌ أَبْصَارُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا
