جملة «أفلم يسيروا» مستأنفة، «كيف» اسم استفهام خبر كان، وجملة «كيف كان» مفعول للنظر المعلق بالاستفهام المضمن معنى العلم، «عاقبة» اسم كان، جملة «دمّر» مستأنفة، وجملة «وللكافرين أمثالها» معطوفة على جملة «دمّر».
